South African Jewellery Info and Stores

Amazing Jewellery in South Africa

The Land of The Free and Home of The Big 5 are names synonymous with sunny South Africa but our bountiful motherland is also the birthplace of some of the world’s most precious gems. Those gems, in turn, become sought after jewellery that many are willing to pay thousands for.

Since the first discovery of gold in Johannesburg and diamonds in Kimberley, we have been producing top end necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and more for locals and visitors. African themed pieces can be found throughout the country at stores, shopping centers and flea markets.

Not just content to be a supplier of precious metals (in addition to gold and diamonds, we also export platinum, silver and titanium), the South African government is keen on training young designers and helping them to manufacture their goods. Jewellery giants De Beers and AngloGold are huge supporters of this initiative.
The booming, million rand jewellery industry is good for our economy and job creation too. More than 4000 South Africans are employed, thanks to the manufacturing companies.

In a country where hope shines bright, it stands to reason that we’re a big player in the global jewellery trade. Whether it’s platinum, gold, silver or well-crafted wooden jewellery you’re after, one thing is for sure: you’ll find it in South Africa.

South Africa is home to many talented jewellery designers offering such beautifully crafted, unique pieces of jewellery. In my opinion it won't be long before the international demand for South African jewellery pieces grows exponentially.
